Tony Tantillo Launches Fresh Ideas Magazine

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (SAN JOSE, CA - October 4, 2007) In 1995, if someone had told Tony Tantillo that by the year 2007 he would have his own magazine, they better believe he already knew it. "Bringing the Fresh Grocer to more people everywhere has always been a goal of mine. This magazine is going to reach hundreds of thousands of people across the country, and all of the readers can learn new things about produce every month." The magazine is called Fresh Ideas Magazine, formerly known as the Fresh Grocer Newsletter. This new magazine is 12 pages, full color, and has all of the Fresh Grocer tips and ideas that the newsletter had but in four extra pages; and as always, encourages the public to "eat fresh and stay healthy." Fresh Ideas is set to launch in all Safeway stores in January 2008. Safeway customers across the nation can get Fresh Ideas every month for free from their local store.

The first Fresh Grocer newsletter was published in 1995 by KPIX in San Francisco, and was only four pages in black and white. In 1998 the publication was taken over by Tantillo's company, Farm Fresh LLC, and by 2001 it became a full color, nationwide publication. In 2003, the newsletter doubled in size to eight pages, and still remained free to all customers of Safeway. These stores include: Vons, Pavilion, Dominick's, Genuardi's Family Markets, Carrs, Tom Thumb and Randalls.

The magazine also includes delicious, healthy recipes, and feature columns from The Produce for Better Health Foundation, The American Dietetic Association and the Produce Marketing Association. Tony's popular National Recipe Contest and Fruit & Vegetable Trivia are featured every month, as well as Safeway's own "Selected For Excellence" column.

After remarkable success in the Bay Area television market, Tony Tantillo relocated to New York in 2000. He is now the local food editor for WCBS Channel 2 News. Every Sunday at 7:20 A.M., Tony presents his Tony's Table Sunday Brunch. Monday through Friday he appears on the Noon News with fresh produce tips and new, appetizing recipes.

Tony is also on the local news stations in Chicago (WBBM-TV), Pittsburg (KDKA-TV), Philadelphia (KYW-TV), and San Francisco (KPIX-TV). He gives his morning drive tip of the day on KBLX 102.9 FM in San Francisco, in addition to being syndicated on 90 other radio stations, including Sirius and XM.
